The monument was intended to be a site of punishment, but instead, it has become a beacon of inspiration for many generations that came to admire the national hero's brilliance throughout his days. The shrine is a collection of buildings that repeat the stories of past Dapitans as well as the passion of an outstanding man who lived as an exile with a purposeโto teach and serve the Dapitanons.
